Special Olympics Michigan Receives CVS Caremark Community Grant

SPECIAL OLYMPICS MICHIGAN RECEIVES $3,000 CVS CAREMARK COMMUNITY GRANT


(Donation to Special Olympics Michigan is part of CVS Caremark Community Grants Commitment to Supporting Children with Disabilities)

 

June 23, 2011 - Special Olympics Michigan announced today that it has received a $3,000 CVS Caremark Community Grant. Special Olympic Michigan's mission is closely aligned with CVS Caremark All Kids Can, the company's signature philanthropic program focused on supporting children with disabilities. The grant from CVS Caremark will help Special Olympics Michigan cover costs for the State Summer Sports Classic July 15-16 in Canton and Ypsilanti. This event serves 550 athletes from around the state who will compete in softball and golf during the two day tournament. A formal check presentation will take place on Friday, July 16 at 8:30 a.m. at Pine View Golf Course in Ypsilanti during Opening Ceremonies for the Special Olympics Michigan 2011 State Summer Sports Classic.

The sense of care provided by CVS Caremark brings such hope to everyone involved."

 

Special Olympics Michigan was selected to receive a grant through the CVS Caremark Community Grants 2011 grant application process. Grants were awarded to organizations that share a common vision with CVS Caremark's All Kids Can program, which strives to make life easier for children with disabilities. The goal of the All Kids Can program is create more inclusive environments for children with and without disabilities to build self-esteem, lasting friendships and social skills, and to help children without disabilities learn diversity and tolerance.
