Special Olympics Michigan Honors and Thanks Applebee's for it's Fundraising

  • May 10, 2012
Special Olympics Michigan recently honored and thanked more than two dozen Applebee's locations, mostly in west and southwest Michigan, for raising $35,444 through medallion sales in support of Special Olympics Michigan athletes. Special Olympics Michigan would also like to thank all of the community members who purchased medallions. Applebee's is a restaurant dedicated to making a difference in the communities they serve, and their support makes a difference in the lives of Special Olympics Michigan athletes and their families. This is the third year in a row for the partnership between Applebee's and Special Olympics Michigan.

Applebee's restaurants that raised more than $1,000 received a special plaque. All other participating locations were presented with a certificate of appreciation.

Special Olympics Michigan President & CEO Lois Arnold said. "We are thrilled that Applebee's partnered with Special Olympics Michigan for the third year. Applebee's is a Statewide Bronze Medal Sponsor and has raised more than $135,000 in the last three years. Their commitment to our athletes is extremely appreciated."

Applebee's launched the statewide fundraiser Jan. 27, 2012 and ran it through the end of February. More than 25 Applebee's locations, mostly in southwest Michigan, participated in the promotion. Applebee's customers had the opportunity to purchase a gold paper medallion for $5 at any of the participating locations. The medallion came with a $5 off coupon good toward the next purchase of $25 or more through April 17, 2012, as a thank you to customers for their contribution.
