Special Olympics Michigan is excited to team up with Applebee's, a restaurant dedicated to making a difference in the communities they serve. This is the third year in a row for the partnership. Applebee's launched the regional fundraiser that will run Jan. 30, 2012 through Feb. 29, 2012. More than two dozen Applebee's locations in Michigan will participate to support Special Olympics Michigan athletes.

Applebee's customers can purchase a gold paper medallion for $5 at any of the participating Applebee's locations. The medallion comes with a $5 off coupon good toward the next purchase of $25 or more from March 1 through March 31, 2012, as a thank you to customers for their contribution. Customers can also purchase a bronze paper medallion for $1.

In addition to the fundraiser, Applebee's will host a kick-back day for Special Olympics Michigan on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012. Bring in the promotional flyer and 20% of your purchase will be donated back to Special Olympics Michigan athletes.

Last year Applebee's raised $53,000 for Special Olympics Michigan with medallion sales and three golf outings.
