Welcome to the 2011 Special Olympics Michigan Southwest Softball Tournament. The date for this year's tournament will be July 30. We will again utilize the City of Kalamazoo Versluis/Dickenson Fields. We all look forward to a great day of softball. The following represents general tournament information, continuing with pertinent sport specific guidelines.

COST
The cost for this tournament will be $15 for each delegation member. Every area must have an Area Director or designated Area Director Representative present for the entire tournament.

REGISTRATION
Adding athletes after call-in will not be allowed and you will be billed accordingly. You may delete teams after this date, but will still be billed for call-in numbers. All registration for Southwest Regional Softball Tournament must be completed on the GMS system and emailed to the Southwest Regional office on or before June 29.  

MEALS
Lunch Saturday (At the softball venue-Boxed lunches) 

AWARDS
Opening Ceremonies will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the softball fields. It is anticipated that games will not start before 9:30 a.m. and may start later depending on the number of teams registered. There will be no Closing Ceremonies at this tournament. Medals will be presentations after your teams last game. 

SKILLS
We will be having a skills competition starting this year at 10:00 a.m.

11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Lunch Softball Complex

SOFTBALL MODIFICATIONS
Rules and guidelines regarding play are listed in the 2011 SOMI Program Guide starting on page 102. Game softballs will be provided. A 12" restricted flight ball will be used for all games.

The attached softball roster information sheet (both sides) should be returned to the SW Regional Office at registration times
