SOMI athlete Thomas Brautigam (12) will play in the NBA Cares Special Olympics Unified Game on Saturday, February 17 in Los Angeles.

Special Olympics Michigan athlete Thomas Brautigam from Brooklyn, Mich. is headed to Los Angeles later this week to play in the annual NBA Cares Special Olympics Unified Basketball Game alongside NBA and WNBA stars and legends. This demonstration game will feature athletes with and without intellectual disabilities playing on the same team and will stream live on the NBA Cares' official Facebook page at on Saturday, February 17 at 12:30 PM ET/9:30 AM PT.

Brautigam is one of only six Special Olympics athletes from the United States, and 12 Special Olympics athletes from across the globe, to be chosen to play in the game which takes place inside the Los Angeles Convention Center. While in Los Angeles, Brautigam and his fellow Special Olympics athletes will receive the VIP treatment by attending the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game presented by Ruffles on Friday, February 16, the State Farm All-Star Saturday Night (skills challenge, 3-point shootout, shooting stars and slam dunk content) on Saturday, February 17 and the 67th NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, February 18.
