Polar Plunge Events Raise $470,000 for SOMI Athletes!
Polar PlungeThank you for taking part in the 2010 Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunges. In 2010, The 19 Polar Plunges around Michigan collectively raised more than $470,000 for Special Olympics Michigan athletes! This is a 70% increase in revenue when compared to 2009. 2010 set new records for the state of Michigan with more than 2,100 plungers. The fundraising efforts of everyone involved bring the joy of sports training and competition to more than 18,000 Special Olympics Michigan athletes. That joy is shared by countless family members, friends, teachers, coaches, and community members who are impacted by our mission of respect, dignity and acceptance for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Torch Run LogoWe are looking forward to reaching new heights in 2011! Please stay tuned for dates and locations coming soon for the 2011 plunge season. It's never too early to start thinking costumes and new fundraising ideas!

Again, thank you for all your fundraising efforts in 2010. Remember our State Summer Games are just around the corner and it's never too late to volunteer! Summer Games will be June 3-5 of 2010!
