The Total Numbers:

      3,000 athletes
      1,000 coaches

The Dollars:

      $40 million dollars in economic impact
      Over $5 million dollars in estimated tax revenue to Nebraska
      $6 million dollars in anticipated Federal support
      $4 million dollars in Department of Defense Security support
      $1 million dollars in State support
      An estimated 25,000 hotel room nights over 7 days

Sports & Signature Events:
-Thirteen Sporting Competitions: Including basketball, bocce, track and field, softball and the chosen introductory sport, flag football.
-The Cessna Airlift: The largest civilian airlift in the world, with over 250 private jets bringing thousands of athletes and coaches from all 50 states. At its peak jets will be landing nearly every 90 seconds.
-Final Leg Torch Run Host:  200+ police officers from across the nation to run the torch through approximately 100 Nebraska communities, arriving in Omaha the day of Opening Ceremonies.
-Special Olympic Athlete Leadership Program: High School  Honor Students along with 50-100 athletes go through an intensive leadership program developed and administered by the Gallup Organization. The program assists the athletes in becoming self-advocates and teaches public speaking.
-VIP Receptions: Expected guests include Tim Shriver, Governor Schwarzenegger, Vanessa Williams, Scott Hamilton, Nadia Comaneci, Bart Connor along with other celebrities and dignitaries.
