At the first Polar Plunge of 2010 Tom “Dewey” Bramson took the plunge as part of the Responsible Hospitality Council (RHC) team.
Tom has been active in the plunge for four years. His first involvement with the Polar Plunge came when one of his vendors asked him to participate. After that, it became a tradition. Last year he got the RHC to participate and recruited about 70 jumpers. This year Dewey and the RHC raised over $15,000 at the Polar Plunge!
As a businessman, Tom feels he has a responsibility to help out local causes like the Area 8 Special Olympics. “This is a necessary part of their annual budget so anything I can do to help them out is very gratifying. The hometown causes need it now more than ever,” said Tom.
Tom didn’t come alone. He was accompanied by his daughter Madison to cheer him on, and she weighed in on how he was feeling before the plunge. “My daughter likes to say I’m apprehensive, but it’s going to be great. It’s for a great cause,” said Tom.
Tom didn’t have to face the freezing water on his own. He was joined by his manager and partner Scottie Busque and his bartender Gaeb Jones. The entire party walked away pleased with this year Polar Plunge.
“It was awesome. It was probably the easiest of the four I’ve done. It was really fun,” said Tom. His daughter Madison agreed. “It was really fun to watch,” said Madison.
Congratulations to Crunchy’s for being the group that raised the most money at the Lansing Polar Plunge with over $10,000.
