Special Olympics Michigan Partners with Detroit Tigers Foundation & Gallagher for State Softball Finals

Special Olympics Michigan(SOMI) is excited to announce State Softball Finals presented by Gallagher and the Detroit Tigers Foundation. The tournament is part of SOMI's Fall Games series.

Competition will take place Friday, August 23, at the Canton Sports Center. The event is set to begin at 9:30 AM and will feature a full day of quality sports competition, with games tentatively concluding at 4:00 PM.

This year’s SOMI State Softball finals will showcase 39 teams competing across 10 divisions, with a total delegation size of nearly 800, including more than 600 athletes. An additional 60 athletes will participate in individual skills events.

“SOMI State Softball Finals is a great example of supporting, believing, and respecting the abilities of one another,” said Christopher Mead, Gallagher Chief Marketing Officer. “Gallagher and Special Olympics Michigan have teamed up to make the world a more inclusive place, and we are excited to support this important mission.”

All athletes competing will receive a gift from Gallagher and the Detroit Tigers Foundation.

SOMI State competition will continue September 27-28 in the greater-Ypsilanti area as part of our State Fall Games, featuring Soccer, Golf, Kayaking, and Cycling events. For more information or to get involved, visit our website www.somi.org.
