No athlete, regardless of ability level, should ever be excluded from Special Olympics.

Snowshoeing is quickly becoming a favorite outdoor winter activity. Combining aerobic activity with ease of walking over snow without sinking in, snowshoeing is an activity for all ages.

Bocce is an Italian game of skill and strategy. The basic principle of the sport is to roll a bocce ball closest to the target ball, which is called a pallina (the smallest ball). The sport allows athletes the opportunity to have social contact, develop physically and to gain self-confidence.

Figure skating is a sport in which individuals, pairs or groups perform spins, jumps, footwork and other intricate and challenging moves on ice skates. Figure skaters compete at various levels from beginner up to advanced. Figure skating is one of the few judged Special Olympics sports.

Handball is a physical and fast sport of intense physical contact, with shots being thrown at speeds approaching 100 km per hour. It is played indoors on a 40m x 20m court with seven players (one goalkeeper + six court), which speeds up the game even more.

Adapted from the games of ice hockey and ringette, poly hockey is an indoor hockey game played on a flat floor surface, such as a basketball court. The players on each team attempt to shoot a puck into a goal using sticks.
