The game of volleyball is attractive to all types of players, from competitive to recreational, young to old. Athletes benefit from the camaraderie that comes from competing in a team sport, as well as the training that enables them to successfully serve and return a volleyball. The sport is easy to learn, requires very little equipment and can be played almost anywhere - from the beach to the gym.
In addition to team competition, we also offer individual skills competition, allowing athletes to train and compete in basic volleyball skills, including volleying, serving and passing. The development of these key skills is necessary prior to advancing to team competition.
Volleyball is a great way to participate in Unified Sports®, in which people with and without intellectual disabilities play on the same team.
If you are an athlete or coach interested in participating in volleyball, select your county on the right to find your area program.
State Summer Games takes place at the beginning of June in Mt. Pleasant.
