A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) offers the opportunity to create a low cost, flexible method of giving as an alternative to direct giving or creating a private foundation. By establishing a donor advised fund with Special Olympics Michigan as a beneficiary, you'll enjoy cost savings and tax advantages when you give through the fund.
A DAF is like a charitable investment account. First, you contribute cash, securities or other assets to a donor-advised fund at a sponsoring organization - there are many local and national options. You'll qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction for the full amount contributed at the time you contribute the account. You can then recommend how much and how often the money is granted from the balance of your DAF to Special Olympics Michigan.
