Area Management Team

Area 1 is managed by an Area Management Team and is currently seeking volunteers to serve on this team.  The Area Management Team holds quarterly meetings.

Fundraisers

Area 1 Special Olympics receives no State or Federal money.  Area 1 must utilize fundraisers to receive donations needed for program expenses.  There is no fee charged to any athlete.  All money raised in Delta, Menominee and Schoolcraft County is spent on program expenses for each respective county.  Expenses include:  uniforms, equipment, registration fees, travel, lodging, meals, bowling lane rental, facility rent, awards, telephone, postage, insurance, office supplies, etc.

Volunteers

Area 1 is always in need of volunteers who can serve as a coach, chaperone, or as a volunteer at a local event.  Please refer to the SOMI website for all forms required.
